Page III: All About Us

What are Constitutionalists?  We are, very simply, those who believe that governance as practiced in the United States should be based only on what the Constitution allows.  Too often, the federal government usurps the power of the states by ignoring completely the 10th Amendment.  The 10th reads in full:  “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”  This means that many of the so called federal mandates, including such things as Obama-care, medicaid, raw milk sold withing a state i.e., not sold interstate,  have no business being the purview of the feds.

We also believe that too often the courts have sided with the federal government, and too often legislated from the bench.  This has had the effect of centralizing governmental powers in the federal government which is NOT what the founders intended.

We also believe that congress, though it has the power of the purse, gives itself far too many benefits, not available to the rest of us.
